We currently have one Guide pack that meets in Histon once a week during term time.
Who are Guides?
Guides is for girls aged 10 to 14.
By becoming part of a worldwide community of girls who learn together and share skills and experiences, Guides have the chance to get out there and do something really different.
Members take part in a wide range of exciting activities at their regular meetings, and at special events or holidays. Girls can get involved in anything from adventure sports to performing arts, travel and taking part in community action projects.
Guides work together in small groups or 'Patrols' and, with the support of an adult Leader, choose and run some of the activities themselves using Go for It! resource packs.
The Guide Promise
I promise that I will do my best:
To be true to myself and develop my beliefs,
To serve the Queen and my community,
To help other people and
To keep the Guide Law.
The Guide Law
A Guide is honest, reliable and can be trusted.
A Guide is helpful and uses her time and abilities wisely.
A Guide faces challenges and learns from her experiences.
A Guide is a good friend and a sister to all Guides.
A Guide is polite and considerate.
A Guide respects all living things and takes care of the world around her.
Each Guide chooses what she wants to wear from a range of items – it is up to each girl to decide which items she likes. This choice allows Guides to be themselves but also makes them feel part of the unit. Guide uniform can be purchased direct from the Girlguiding shop, most John Lewis stores and there are often second hand uniforms available via e-bay.
